Pulaski County is a place where you can live reasonably close to the more urban areas of the New River Valley, without the hustle and bustle of city life. The county seat has about 9,000 residents and 2,000 live in Dublin. If you are interested in local history, start at the Wilderness Road Regional Museum 

in the historic town of Newbern.  The courthouse in Pulaski also has exhibits on the area’s heritage.  The New River Valley Fine Arts Center is the cultural hub of the community.

The New River Valley Fairground is  the site of the county fair as well as horse shows, rodeos, flea markets, and farm equipment sales.

Pulaski is home to the New York Yankees Appalachian League baseball team. Games are played in historic Calfee Park, a great place to spend a summer evening with family and friends.

Pulaski County Schools include eight elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school facility.  New River Community College is at the intersection of Routes 100 and 11, in Dublin, and provides occupational programs and college transfer courses . 

The county is convenient, with four exits from Interstate 81. (Exits 89, 94, 98 and 101) Interstate 77 is less than 18 miles southeast of Pulaski.  The New River Valley Airport offers business, commuter, and personal flights. The Roanoke Airport only is about one hour north.  Local industries also ship and receive freight via Norfolk-Southern.

Claytor Lake State Park, New River Trail State Park, Gatewood Reservoir Recreation Area, 

Jefferson National Forest, and the beautiful New River offer boating, fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities.  Randolph Park in Dublin, has hiking trails, a water park, tennis and basketball courts, as well as nature trails and Frisbee golf. 

Pulaski Community Hospital is located within the county, and Carilion New River Valley Medical Center is nearby in Montgomery County. 

Low tax rates, steady land values, and a convenient location make Pulaski County attractive.
