If you enter Radford from I-81, exit 105 you will be on West Main Street. If you arrive from exit 109, you will be on Tyler Avenue.
Main Street, Tyler Avenue, and Rock Road are the primary roads circling the city. East Main Street (Route 11) intersects with Tyler Avenue (Route 177) at Radford University.
Tyler Avenue is where the motels are located: La Quinta, Best Western, Super 8, and Comfort Suites.
Rock Road intersects Tyler Avenue, and traverses the outskirts of the city over to West Main Street. In addition to Tyler Avenue on the east side of town, the city has two through streets on the west side. These are Wadsworth Street, and Forest Avenue.
The city operates a visitor center in Glencoe Museum at 600 Unruh Drive. The Radford Chamber of Commerce has visitor information at their office at 200 Third Avenue, Suite C.
Restaurants are located along Main Street, Tyler Avenue, and across the river on Route 11 and 114.
Two full service grocery stores are located within city limits. Wades Supermarket, at 405 West Main Street is a local, independent, family owned business. Food Lion is located at 1024 Tyler Avenue. Kroger, Walmart Supercenter and another Food Lion are just a short drive away on Routes 11 and 114, in Fairlawn.
Several gas stations and car care places are located in and near the city.
A fantastic view of the city is available at the Recreation Center on George Street, off Second Avenue. Be sure to go inside and see the facility while you´re up there!
If you´re in need of any more assurance that Radford is the town for you, enter Bissett Park from East Main Street, opposite Grove Avenue. Take a stroll along the Riverway!
