Bart is a full time (and then some) Realtor. Real estate was Bart's first and only career choice. He began in real estate earlier than most, forming the partnership of Castleberry & Associates while still in college. Through college he worked to identify, purchase, and manage investment property in the New River Valley. Soon after graduating from Virginia Tech, he made the move to concentrate on sales and joined Bondurant Realty where he is a successful agent working in all types of real estate sales; Residential, Land, Investment, and Commercial. Combining a degree in Business Management and Real Estate from Virginia Tech with years of experience in the many facets of real estate, Bart is the best choice for your real estate needs in the New River Valley.
True to his quest for education, Bart continues to learn new and innovative ways to be the most effective real estate agent he can be. He attends seminars, training classes, and continuing education courses. He conferences regularly with local attorneys, lenders and other professionals to stay on top of changes so he can serve his clients proactively rather than reactively. One of his favorite educational opportunities came from the Howard Brinton Seminars, where he trained, networked, and learned the newest techniques from the top 1% of agents in the US.
Bart has lived in the New River Valley for most of his life. He grew up in Radford and attended Radford City Schools and Virginia Tech. He currently resides in Radford with his wife, Laurie and their young daughter and son. While real estate takes up most of his time, you will see him throughout the area engaged in various activities. He volunteers at local elementary schools, speaks at school career days, and has built hiking and biking trails in the National Forest.
His hobbies include kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cycling as well as woodworking and woodturning. Bart is a true outdoorsman and knows the local area like few others. He truly enjoys spending time on the New River kayaking and canoeing. In the Virginia state kayaking championships he was runner up in 1998 & 2000, winning the Pro/elite class championship in 1999, placing 10th in the Nationals in 2000. He also is an accomplished woodworker and wood turner. He has built a wood canoe, a kayak, and many pieces of furniture. He demonstrates his woodturning techniques and has sold hundreds of his woodturnings to private collections all over the US and South America. In 2004 and 2006 he was a featured demonstrator at the Virginia Woodturning Symposium. His specialty is utilizing overlooked and unusual woods native to the Appalachian Mountains. He will always be happy to talk about his latest finds of Redbud, Dogwood, or Persimmon. His hobbies are a relaxing alternative to the demanding world of real estate.
